In 1784, the legendary British admiral Lord Nelson established Britain's most important naval base, English Harbour, on Antigua. Little did he know that the island' steady trade winds, winding coastline and endless coral reefs–which then defended the English fleet–would make it one of the Caribbean's premier destinations over 200 years later.
