This month our Pricing & Commercial Manager Charlie tells us about her holiday to Barbados, including her favourite things about the resorts and some tips on what to do in Barbados.
Hello! I have been working in travel since my career began and have dedicated my life to it ever since. I absolutely adore the Caribbean, as well as our unique product. In total we have 18 resorts (across both Sandals and Beaches), all of which boast our Luxury Included® offering – from 5-Star Global Gourmet™ dining and unlimited premium brand drinks to unlimited land & water sports and endless entertainment. What’s not to love?!
I was lucky enough to visit Sandals Royal Barbados on a personal holiday just before the first lockdown in March last year. As Sandals Resorts offer a Stay at One, Play at Two exclusive exchange programme, we were able to use the amenities at Sandals Barbados too; meaning we got to experience both resorts on the same trip. This took our restaurant options up to 20 and our bar choices up to 14! The resorts blend seamlessly into each other so getting around was easy.
It’s hard to pick just one thing, but if I had to choose it would be the Rooftop Pool. The view over Maxwell Beach, with it’s white-sand and swaying palms, was breath-taking. During the day it had a chilled vibe and was the perfect place to soak up the Caribbean sun. In the evening a live musician played at the Rooftop Bar, which we used to visit before dinner. They served smoking cocktails, which aren’t to be missed! Besides the Rooftop, we also absolutely LOVED the food at Portofino’s (located at Sandals Barbados). They served authentic favourites from the Liguria Region of Italy in a warm, open-air setting.
1. Take a turn at Sandals’ first 4-lane the bowling alley, Lovers Lanes, which also features a cocktail lounge and a craft beer bar serving 19 different beers from around the world.
2. Eat your way through the menu at Sandals’ first gourmet doughnut shop, Sweet n’ Salty’s, where unique flavour combinations include White Chocolate Maple Bacon and Mango Tango.
3. Book a Catamaran and Snorkelling Cruise at Carlisle Bay* with the award-winning attraction company, Island Routes Caribbean Adventures. Sail along the coastline to a tranquil bay where you can go snorkelling with the islands renowned sea turtles! Plus, the excursion also includes a delicious lunch and unlimited drinks.
Soon after the pandemic hit in March 2020, we launched our Platinum Protocol of Cleanliness. This was built upon our existing, industry-leading cleaning and hygiene standards, providing guests with EVEN MORE health and safety measures for complete peace of mind. Whilst handshakes and hugs have since been replaced with a friendly wave from our staff, rest assure that your clients will continue to have the holiday of a lifetime at the World’s Leading All-Inclusive Resorts.
